Parking in Poreč: parking zones, prices and old town car parks
Poreč has two kinds of public parking: the blue-marked spaces along the street and car parks with barriers. Both are run by the town's utility company, Usluga Poreč. This guide explains how the zones, seasonal prices and payment work, where the large car parks near the old town are, and what applies at the beach, with a camper van or with an electric car. All details come from Usluga Poreč and the Poreč Tourist Board, as of October 2026. How to get to Poreč in the first place is covered in Getting to Poreč.

How parking in Poreč works: the blue zone and three parking zones
All blue-marked parking spaces in Poreč belong to the so-called blue zone. It is divided into three colour-coded zones: Zone I is red, Zone II yellow and Zone III green. The zones differ in price and in the hours when you have to pay, and both depend on whether the summer or the winter rules apply. The operator's price list does not say which street belongs to which zone, so check the signs on the spot.
There are also car parks with barriers at the entrance and exit. According to the tourist board, they operate around the clock all year. Usluga Poreč staff check the street parking every day with electronic devices. Anyone who has not paid is issued a day ticket.
Poreč parking prices by zone and season

When and how to pay: machine, text message or online
In the winter period, Usluga Poreč charges for street parking Monday to Friday from 7:00 to 19:00 and on Saturdays from 7:00 to 14:00. There is no charge on Sundays and public holidays. We did not find the summer hours on the operator's website; the signs on the spot are what counts.
You can pay in three ways:
- At a parking meter: there are machines in all zones.
- By text message: Usluga Poreč lists the numbers 708527 for Zone 1, 708538 for Zone 2 and 708539 for Zone 3, plus 708571 for the Large City Car Park and 708572 for the car park near the primary school. The operator's website does not say exactly what to write in the message or whether foreign mobile numbers work.
- Online: in the Usluga Poreč web shop, also available in English and Italian, you choose the zone, enter your number plate, choose the duration and pay by card.
Poreč old town parking: the car parks in the centre
The tourist board lists four car parks with barriers in the centre. The first three are the relevant ones for visitors:
- Large City Car Park (Veliko gradsko parkiralište): next to the market, 750 spaces plus 12 for disabled drivers, cars only. Entry, exit and payment work with automatic number plate recognition. One hour costs €2.00 according to the price list.
- Vrtovi car park: opposite the Large City Car Park, 400 spaces. According to Usluga Poreč, it stays open this autumn until 31 October 2026.
- Car park near the primary school: on Ulica K. Huguesa, 145 spaces plus 7 for disabled drivers, cars only.
- Car park by the municipal court at Poreč Marina: only for subscribers of the Large City Car Park and holders of a berth in the marina.
Evening pedestrian zone: streets you cannot drive into
In summer 2026 the town extended the pedestrian zone in the inner centre. From 1 April to 1 November, according to Usluga Poreč, these streets are closed to cars every day from 17:00 to 3:00: Zagrebačka ulica, Ulica Pina Budicina, parts of Ulica Otokara Keršovanija and Ulica Jože Šurana between Ulica Mihe Grahalića and Ulica Pina Budicina, and Ulica Nikole Tesle from Ulica Pina Budicina to the Peškera roundabout. During these hours only residents registered in the zone and emergency vehicles may drive in.
Usluga Poreč closed the Vindija alternative car park on 1 October 2026. What to see in the old town is covered in Poreč old town.
Beach parking, camper vans and electric cars
The tourist board gives little information on parking at individual beaches. For Brulo beach in the south of town, it mentions parking lots in front of the nearby hotels, with footpaths down to the beach. The town beach in Peškera cove is right next to the old town and linked to the centre by a 500 m seafront promenade. Which beaches you can walk to is covered in Poreč beaches.
With a camper van: according to the tourist board, the Large City Car Park and the car park near the primary school are for cars only. According to the Croatian Camping Association, you may only stay overnight in a camper van or caravan at registered campsites or on parking areas expressly designated for campers; wild camping is punishable by law.
With an electric car: according to the price list, there are charging spaces at the Large City Car Park. If you stay parked after charging, you pay €0.06 per minute, and if you occupy a charging space without charging, €20.00.
Villa Matea: your own space in the courtyard
At Villa Matea in the north of Poreč, each of the three holiday apartments has a free private parking space in the enclosed courtyard. The nearest beach is about 10 minutes away on foot, the old town 15 to 20 minutes. So the car can stay put, and you only need it for day trips from Poreč.
